Tejano y Norteño - Anyone else play theses styles?

¡Saludos a todos! I was wondering if there are any others out there who play Tejano or Norteño cumbias? If so, it would be great to discuss tips and patterns, A lot of times our style of play is somewhat different than afro-cuban rhythms, due to use of cowbell or block on one hand, congas in the other, and timbale fills as well.
