CASA CUBANA. The Ultimate Tres Dos

When I said Casa Cubana compares to the best congas made, you can see the photos to prove it. I integrate it with my SOS and my Juniors, it's got the same qualities and was touched by Matt's Smith Beauty Spa with new outer bands. Is the perfect conga because it could be a lead drum for a fat tasty mazacote or it could be used as a tumba. See the photos.

Absolutely a beautiful drum...Do I remember correctly, I think I read here that Casa Cubana was in Long Island, NY? What happened to that shop?

No, this is a Casa Cubana from Long Island made by Frankie Rodriguez, like Faustino said, I think he passed.

Hey Frankie,

Your drums were wonderful. Do you have anything left that you want to sell ? The closest conga to an original Gonzalo Vergara were your Casa Cubanas. I'll buy anything you have.

Omelenko1: Your tumbadoras always look great! How do you keep them from getting banged around or should i say how do you keep other conga players from from banging them around who don't know the difference from an Lp. to a handmade drum like yours.

I try to keep them away from each other when I play them. If some one sits in I stress the same to them. When Mongo played them (RIP) I couldn't tell the ultimate master how to play them, so they did suffer some scuffing, but then I would light sand the area and would apply finish and varnish. I also rotate my sets.

Saludos,

Dario
