I happen to be 38 and not a 2 year old but i have no idea what point your trying to make here . I know the history of both latin jazz and jazz as i am a huge fan and collector of the music . Your little history lesson is nice but thats whats wrong with its in the past . There are many ways to play jazz on many many many instruments and just because there are no trap drums dosent mean its not jazz , it also dosent automatically become latin jazz when the congas are added . Wheres the latin jazz in a trio with montunos , tumbao etc etc etc playing old swing standards ? Its a different approach that suits smaller venues like cafes etc .

I think You are mistaken as to what is Latin Jazz and what is Jazz the video you posted is Jazz not Latin Jazz you need to get fact straight as to what is jazz and what is Latin jazz . Listen to the way he is playing Latin Jazz is when playing a straight tumbao not a skip to ma lou fashion as Don Alias is playing .
