I like how you start with clave as a light tap,, then fall into groove immediately..
Nice work!

Okay, not sure what to say about this one, but I thought it was certainly interesting.
This girl has some fast hands, interesting instrument, never saw it before but I'm sure one or more of you have. She seems to be incorporating quite a bit of tabla technique in this.............

I'm no tabla player [that is a huge understatement] but I have a set I picked up years ago and I've been messing around with trying learn the basic stokes and one or two baby rhythms for fun when I need a conga break.

I don't see any Na's, Ta's, Dhin's or anything else related to tabla in that at all.

Just sayin

The cha cha like left hand and strong back beat, plus her drum corps like rudiments make it look more like go go technique than tabla technique.

Impecable solo by Paoli with Guarapachangueo base method. Admirable dedication to his craft and his playing shows it.

Paoli is definitely one of the best young congueros on the playing circuit, without a doubt!

Here is a very nice new video hot off the Congahead press, Michelle Rosewoman with Roman Diaz, Pedrito Martinez, Abraham Rodriguez and Ricky Rodriguez.

Another one, shot last week, with Maobong Oku, Roman Diaz, Clemente Medina and Onel Mulet. This is an historic performance and meeting arranged by Ivor Miller, ethnographer and author of the book Voice of the Leopard about the origins of the Cuban Abakua.

Yea he has good technique...but can he play in a band? any band?..Does he know 'styles"....Im really getting tired of all this improvisation...though it's great to watch and to listen to..I think it's getting to be a bit redundant...and Im guilty too of posting guys just soloing....we like who we like, I know......but there are now like 1,ooo of these guys doing this everyday...and where is it gonna go?...after you can do this then what do you do with it?...In some of the bands i came up playing with the conga player almost never got a solo because we were playing dance music...now today everybody and there mother 'thinks' and believes they can solo..and some can for sure...while others 'fake' there way thru soloing...with out any knowledge of playing in a band or how to..just my take on it today...i may feel different tomorrow...maybe...
