Hi again all, I wanted to add that although there are pictures that exist showing Tom Flores playing congas, they were actually just so he could test the sound quality. He actually wasn't a conga or bongo player or any kind of percussionist. It makes his Valje legacy that much more incredible. Another little known fact..

Gentlemen,

I stumbled on to this site in search of some historical information on the two drums in the pics I posted below. I have owned these drums since the early 90's when I found them in a local newspaper ad in San Diego. I bought them from a local musician who's name I have long forgotten and never saw again.

Anyway I was recently considering putting them on the market but as I learn more about them I am reconsidering and will likely look into refinishing them, polishing the hardware, and replacing the heads with something as close to the original heads as I can find or create. By chance can anyone tell what species of wood these are?

My question is does anybody know what the value of these Bokus might be?

By the way, I adapted the stand and drums to work for my height.

Clearly they appear to be very similar to the Gon Bop version posted earlier.
