Hi everyone.. Well I'm starting a new project with some King Congas I picked up.. I'll keep updating as I go. Any ideas or suggestions on restoration are more then welcome.. Thanks and enjoy...

Congratulations, this is no doubt a great find. Can't wait to see the progress on these beauties, good luck. BTW, do you know if you will keep the same color?
Thanks guy's.. I'm going with a Dark red for the color.. and it's off to the painter to prepare and paint.. I'm going to start polishing up the hardware.. I'll post more pic's as I go..
Whoa! Awesome. Really really nice. This is another set of King's for sale a while back. A little similar. I think yours would look really sharp with some classic King Conga pinstripes.

Kings are nice congas, no overtones, no ringing. They have a nice dry sound, just like Echo Tones. I should have kept mine (photo enclosed). I hear Armando Peraza, the original endorser, has a garage full of them in SF. I should give him a call, I know him since the days he was in Mongo's band. Armando, Candito and Francisco, the last of the Mohicans left (MoCubans). May God bless them!
