Hi Marco (Congadelica),

Please forgive me for butting in.

As an owner of 3 Isla drums myself, I have a certain degree of firsthand knowledge about them. With Islas your choice is either just canoe or cherry. Mario, to the best of my knowledge, doesn't make oak drums and hasn't offered them to the public in the past.

Please click on: http://islapercussions.com/congas.html

Re: color choice, pictures unfortunately don't always do full justice to the actual color of things. I should know 'cause I'm also a serious amateur photographer.

But, as per the general color choices that Mario has made available for the Islas (found on the bottom of the web page that I cited above), I'm making a calculated guess that the color of Ironman's Islas is what is called "dark walnut".

Hope this helps, :D

Jeisen bro , que madera es de los batas? looks like red cedar.

I happen to have a set of 3 of those classics and are up for sale, have another set in white w/ the black grain and they are the keepers.

That is a NICE Coke bottle! Just Jokeing! :p Great collection iron man! Which of your hand made sets are your favorite? Any sets that you use just for salsa, or just for folklorico stuff? What other stuff are you looking to add to your collection?

the two with black hardware where made in 2001 by jay berik @ skin on skin in brooklyn n.y. for new york legend alberto serrano aka alberto quinto, there also signed in the inside indicating they where made for him & the one with crome hardware is out of my personal set i broke up, there was a real nice 11 quinto up but a friend from florida snatched it up today...

Sakuntu, :)

Ha, ha, ha! Thanks for making me laugh! :D

Until you mentioned, I didn't even notice the Coke bottle. I'm almost sure it was intentionally placed there for scale.
