There might be a way to make a cart entirely of PVC (except the wheels and platform). In that way, you may be able to disassemble it for transport in your car.

Personally, I love these kinds of challenges.

Hey bachikaze,
love those pics - especially the one of Max the Chihuahua roped up ready to haul your drums! :D

I think I need to make myself a cart of some sort to haul my massively heavy LP Palladiums to gigs. I think I would make it with low sides so it is less likely for the drums to fall off. The sides could lay flat then be folded upwards when in use. Just an idea.
thanks!
Pavlo

p.s. I think JC's effort takes the cake for hauling his congas thru the snow at 3am.

The sides would probably be a good idea. They could be as tall as the cart is wide (2') and fold down, or maybe slide into holes cut into the platform.

I plan to make a triangular piece that will lie on the bottoms of the inverted drums. Each corner of the triangle will have a perpendicular piece that fits into the bottom hole of the drum. Thus, they will be locked together. Once again, I may use PVC.

I will take all three drums to a park for Earth Day, Sunday. I must transport them across the park. I have to finish the cart tomorrow. We'll see how it works.

Now THAT, is doing it hard brother! Dedication. respect!

Rumberro ruski!

Yes, a crazy freedom like feeling of positive emptiness and peace of mind after a gig...
Worth of carrying the drums on your back through the streets... :)
So humble but yet emperous feelings...

So interesting to know everyone has gone through similar experiences! It's not so bad walking a few blocks downtown, going up stairs, etc. to go to the show, when you're excited to play....but at 2 or 3 am when you're done and worn out.... that's when it hurts! My wife recently asked me about cigarettes in my car (I don't smoke) and I said it's to bribe all the street people who constantly used to harrass me while I was carrying the congas. Now they help me!
