I would love to have some of the older sonocs made of caoba ( mahogany). I've got a friend who bought a quinto from a touring cuban group in canada, man it is one of the nicest sounding drums I've ever heard!

If I could take only one of the congas I own to a desert island it would have to be my LP Palladium tumba... oops, no I couldn't, I would need someone to help me carry it. :D

Sorry, I know I left off some makers, but the poll only allows for 10 choices. :(

Here is a picture of my Cuban Cahoba SONOCS,awesome sound but they tend to split. Very melodic conga but heavy. I only have 2 left.

For me my Dream drums would be made by "Pan con Queso" who I met in Venezuela..the Best made congas EVER.....but unfortunatly, they dont exist anymore since he passed all those years ago...... :( "JC" Johnny Conga...

They are beautiful congas, they look almost like cuban cigars! Even the name is similar to cuban cigars.

Its not listed but I would pick Isla congas,
they just look awesome, and the carved staves
seems like such a good idea!

Even though, for price reasons, I have LP Classics and LP Patato Fiberglasses...I haven't seen a set that beats a JCR Custom-made conga.

JCR congas and bongos have a sound-volume-projection that I haven't seen any other company match.

I'd ask Cali to build me a JCR conga

Let's see, I'm on a Island, I think I'll build my own! I 've got plenty of time to figure
out how. I'd probably start with bongos.

Another super nice vintage conga is the " TIMBA ISMAEL".
They are very very nice. One of the best I've seen.

I can't select from the list, because I have little experience with any brands but the LPs and Bauers. I've read people rave about half the drums on the list. My dream is to have a nice-sounding low-maintenance (i.e. no cracking) Cuban style segundo.

I like the classic shape and metal bands. I want it to stay between my legs when I play. Because my Bauers (which I usually use on a stand) are so polished and slick, they slip a lot. In fact, I would rather the drum was a little old and rough, which also means I don't care if it gets scratches and dings.

I'm sure it wouldn't sound as good as my Bauers, but the coolness factor would make up for it.

Mmmm….I should take a conga with me which is big enough, that’s for sure. The LP Palladium super tumba is for this purpose a good choice, I think. After I have enough of listening to myself playing, I can always flip over the big tube, climb aboard and sail back home to the mainland.
