 ....NYCity has always been "overcrowded" with conga drummers, just a very small percentage actually can and do make somewhat of a living out of it....there was a time you could do just one thing and make a living but that is long gone..I teach, I play, I produce..etc.....gotta be "versatile" to survive....Imagine if Elvis had congas in his band?  hahahahahahaha  .wow...."JC" Johnny Conga....PS Andy Kaufmann did a skit as Elvis actually playing congas, have u seen that?....what a trip..and Andy could hang just a bit, but he got good sound and could hold some time too.....
