upgrading rims

recently found congaboad and I'm loving it. I'd like to extend a warm saludo to all y mucho ache'
I was wondering if anyone here has replaced traditional LP rims with the newer comfort rims?

I have a set of Patato congas (LP), I changed the comfort rims over to the traditional rims which LP still carries, and then after I changed the heads on them, I put the comforts back on them. They are interchangeable without a problem. Mounting new heads, not premounted of course, is a bit challenging when using the comfort rims.

My gigin set has comfort rims, and my home drum has traditional... I gotta say I really rather the traditional, when I go back to play my church gig set it feels like something is in my way as Im playing the traditional rims sit lower and allows my hands to rest more on the bearing edge of the drum/skin, the comfort rims seems like it gets in the wayand your hands rest on the rim because they sit higher up, which is really not a problem just a personal preference I guess they are both comfortible to me once adjusted to it, but I much rather the traditional rim IMO

Thanks for the responses. I was hoping they were interchangable. I have a LP classic Quinto which I picked up in the early 80s and Patato llamador and tumba all traditional rims. I've been playing all my life as I remember banging on the desk in 4th grade I play Jazz, rock, rumba. And some strange combinations of the three. I've been hitting the traps lately but an ambia called who wants to do some latin so I'm hurtin the hands again.
