It was with deep sadness that I heard yesterday Ibrahim Ferrer had passed away.
Loved by millions the world over, through his music he brought happiness to the world.
A wonderful person, full of humility, he will be greatly missed by all.

May he rest in peace and let us remember how he lived, rather than how he died.

I found the below articles online today.

It's really sad. Compay Segundo, Ruben Gonsales and now Ibrahim... They became famous so late, like a really star which shinne so strong befor days.

The positive point is that they all got the recognition which they were wishing to have before passing away, there are other great musicians which are dead, without that recognition, they all rest in peace.Dr. Zaragemca

A great generation of musicians is passing away and they can never be replaced but we can remember them and learn the lessons that they had to offer. We pass that along and we become a link in the chain of musicians and percussionists that guarantee that the traditions will not be lost. I am all for innovation but there is a lot to be said for la tradicion.
