After five days of cold turkey, I feel bliss and awe: Loading my favourite bookmark works again! :)
The server breakdown I experienced was one of the worst things I experienced in the last days...
Hopefully this won´t happen again soon.
Nice to be back.

Thanks guys! I'm glad we are back on-line.... the situation was really bad... i don't know why but the previous forum was using all the server's CPU causing a "collapse" of the database... after the third warning the provider closed directly the database and that was the reason why I had to change the home page and close many parts of the site...
I spent more than one week investigating but with no results so I decided that the only way to solve the problem was to change the forum software.... but what about members, topic and posts!?! Finally I found this board and a tool to use for importing messages from the board we were using: BINGO!! I started with some test with poor results but at the end i found the way to import most of the parameters and all the posts and topics... I'm sure we will fing bugs and something missing (attachment or links to other topics) but at least we didn't destroy many years of knowledge about congas and percussions!!!

Que viva la musica (and CongaPlace!)...
Bye to all

Great to be back, thanks to Congaman and any other administrators who helped, for finding the new software, setting it up, importing all the data to the new software, debugging, dealing with the software companies and other business entities, and all the other issues you had to deal with to get Congaplace back online. I am sure you had lots of other things to do this last week, and we really do appreciate your efforts. Gracias y seguimos pa'lante.

Whew! History repeats itself... Shortly after I wrote my initial post the site broke down for weeks.
After a long, long, long time the site is back in new shape.
I find it a bit difficult to get used to the fact that the posts´authors are not
on the left side any longer - but I´ll learn to handle that.

What is more, I am REALLY glad that Congaman did such a good job to import all the previous messages,
because they are an invaluable hoard of knowledge (well, not all of them, to be true ;-)

So every not only nature renews itself in spring time, but also congaplace...

I am also glad this forum is back. I missed it. I am also glad we used The Conga Club to help us communicate when this site was down.

A week and a half!!!??
It's been over a month for me! Just found it through Yahoo CongaClub! Thanks to Joseph for setting me straight! Who knew? Now it's "MY"congaplace.com :D
Good to be back everybody! And hello Dusty!! Good to have a friend I play with on the forum as well..

So, guys, I'm headed West this year TWICE! First one is a road trip May 31st through Utah - Anybody in Salt Lake City? and up on the Sierra's camping one night, then down into either San Jose, or San Fran area next day,, and hopefully a few days there, then forestville, then to Ukiah for camp Kosmos. Drum and dance camp.

Next trip to Humboldt in July!! Got the airline tickets already for that one! So, won't have the drums this time!
One of our group, Rapa, said he might go! We'll see..

Alright! Good to be back home!
