Alafia Abures!
I hope that you are all in an abundance of holiday blessings and that you are all warm and toasty during this chilly season!

We got a few rumberos together out here in Phx. AZ, and even had a special guest come down from the upper regions of Flagstaff, AZ :D ! I'm speaking of Cap'n Q of course! It was great to meet you in person Cap'n Q, you really grooved my brother! Thanks once again for the incredibly beautiful painting!

here are a couple of pics of the group.....
this is Abures Hakim and Peter (aka Mad Dog)!

We prepared a fine PuertoRican cuisine of Pernil, Arroz con Gandules, and the fixins, topped off with some slammin' Coquito! El hermano "Negro" (Sebastian) came over the night before and prepared everything for us! If any of you come to Phx., and want some real home town "comida boricua" let me know, and I'll get him to hook you up! :D

Here is Negro gettin down for us.....

It's really great to get some drummers together to, as we say...."a curarse" con la conga! Those of you brothers that are trying to get your rumba circles together, it's quite refreshing when you do! Just a little home cooking, some well tuned drums, and let go!

Many blessings to you all Abure Mi!

Alafia Abure Diceman!
Yo! I hope that you are well my brother!

The food was "off da' chain" as they say. My man "Negro", is incredible both on congas, and in the kitchen!

Many blessings!

Alafia Abure Onile!

Chacho! What a fantastic time!! :D

It was a real pleasure meeting all of you. Great musicians and people, incredible food and the
best hospitality. Thanks eternally for the opportunity!

The DVD - Rumberos de Cuba II - is smokin'! :p Great examples of so many different rhythms.
The dancing is quite impressive, too!

Many holiday blessings forum members!

Vaya Mi Pana Abakua!
Espero que todo este bien contigo!

I'm glad you enjoyed the pics! Everyone said they had a great time, you know, I had the best time just being in the presence of them all. The fun thing was that we had some newbies, so watching them play parts of rythms with other drummers, which they never had done before, and really getting into it! It was a blast my brother! Los veteranos siendo Boricuas, well we took them to la isla with plena, then some seis por ocho, yambu and so on. I gotta tell ya', everyone rocked!

I just sent you an e-mail!

Suave!

Onile!

I need music ... only want women!

Hopefully, all of you will get an opportunity to gather with others in the drum spirit.
It's fun to play alone, but so much more in communion.

Perhaps some brothers/sisters (Abures) would like to try drumming at 7000 ft? You still own a warm jacket, desert rat? :D

Peace,

CQ
