Cheers BNB, for some reason I think I thought Cachaito was his correct name but he was known as Cachao almost like a nickname or a shortening.

I bounce between those two albums in preference, with the Cachaito just edging Echu Mingua most of the time.

Hey Barrie,
I'm not trying to correct you or anything but Cachaito is Cachao's nephew.
Orlando "Cachaito" López and Israel "Cachao" López.
I'm the same as you with regards to Cachaito and Echu Mingua. In the video documentary Echu Minga, Anga says
he sees the albums as extensions of each other. Echu Mingua usually edges Cachaito for me. That album by Manuel Galban and Ry Cooder kind of makes these albums a trilogy for me.

Does anyone have the Cuban Rumba Instruction DVD by Javier Campos Martinez?
The producer added some more footage on youtube including the "Timbalaye" rhythm Javier created that is FUNKY!
I think this rhythm alone is worth the DVD. Check it out at 4:46.

A unique video that immediately set you off - because he's wearing gloves but he exhibits some nice groove.
