Firebrand,if you state that any specific percussionist is your favorite for whatever reasons,it is understandable,but to state that somebody is the best in the world it is an overstatement..I personally don't need anything from the people you are mentioning and I have done some stuff that many percussionists have not done yet.I just don't have a promotional/manager.Dr. Zaragemca

Hi Congaplace,

Happy New Year 2005 to all of you!

Many of my favorites already mentioned. One that doesn't seem to get the recognition that he deserves out of Puerto Rico is David "La Mole" Ortíz. Check out the attached image. Un maestro de maestros! Among his former students you find: Giovanni Hidalgo, Anthony Carrillo, and Richito Flores.

I also dont think "La Mole" does not get the recognition he deserves, this guy is a beast on congas... Trully a great inspiration to watch him play...

I LOVE THE GREATS, AND ADMIRE THE NATURALLY TALENTED. BUT WHEN IT COMES TO WHO IS MY FAVORITE CONGUERO?... THAT HAS TO BE: (ME, MYSELF, AND I). THAT IS WHY I DO THIS THING; FOR MYSELF.
