Hey fellow congueros/congueras!

It's been a while.

I happen to be in NYC right now for a very short time - until Saturday - and just wanted to know if anyone knows of some jam around here I might be able to check into in my spare time the next few days. Also am available to give a lesson or two in case anyone is interested.

I'll be checking for responses here.

All the best to you all!

Yoni

He has a flute player from Israel, too. Call first to make sure it is still going on, and tell them Barry sent you :)

Hi Yoni,
Too bad you can't stay til Sunday. We are just starting up the Castle Hill rumba again on Sunday nights, Sports Plus Café, 1161 Castle Hill Avenue, Bronx, 718.239.2300 located 2 blocks north of the Cross Bronx Expressway. Usually starts around midnight, but we are trying to get it to start earlier, around 10. The Central Park rumba may go again this Sunday, depends on the weather. On the path next to the lake by the bridge, at the 72nd St level, follow your ears. Usually goes from about 5 until 10.

I may go to Plan B tonight, Abie has been telling me about it for months and I will hopefully be able to make it tonight. Maybe I will get to meet you over there. Willie's rumba on Friday should be great, he is an excellent well disciplined player.

Jorge

Well, I just spoke to Willie - it was great talking with him, but I'm sad to say he informed me the rumba isn't happening tomorrow night, as the venue suddenly became un-available.

I tried phoning the place called "Plan B" for a couple days, and finally got through to one human, after hearing message machines each time. But that human wasn't sure if there was a jam Wednesday night or not, but said there usually was. So I went there last night, Wednesday, to check it out, and guess what - no live music.

Anyone got a "Plan C"?

:(

Timing is everything, but time on this trip is running out.

Oh well.

Next time!

:)
