Touching Up Scratches and Dings

Does anyone have any experience touching up scratches and dings on the outside of their tumbadoras?
Mine are fiberglass so I figured Id go to a car dealership and get some touchup paint to match the color of my congas, though I dont know if metal is close enough to fiberglass.
