Hey CongaMike, the pattern you're playing on Troostin sounds very similar to what I was shown as "Downbeat or African Mambo". I created my own three drum version of that one.
Don't know if I play on the same one as what you did, and mine's played with Son Clave.

Code: Select all
[tt]
cnt: | 1 e & a 2 e & a | 3 e & a 4 e & a ||
Hand:| R - R L L R - R | - R L R R L R L |
clav | X - - X - - X - | - - X - X - - - |
Qui: | O - S - - S - O | - S S - - S O O |
Seg: | - - - O O - - - | - - - - - - - - |
Tum: | - - - - - - - - | - - - O O - - - |
[/tt]

gracias Onile!~

Windhorse, this pattern is from Tomas Cruz Vol. II, I think he calls it "Bomba Timba". I just used 2 drums instead of 3 on this recording since I was so eccited just getting something on disc! More later. feel free to pm me for more info, thanks.

Here is something I did with pandeiro, vocals and sax.
For those of you that know Portuguese, feel free to give me enunciation help.
Wait for the sax part at the end, I hope you like it.

Thanks Jorge!

I use pc and it's a breeze. I don't know if it works with mac.
All you need is microphone(s).
