Another pic taken up on the tower, from another point on the skywalk, notice how it towers above the world famous Sydney Harbour Bridge on the left and the Opera House on the right!
We is way up high! :D

Nice spot for a rumba me thinks!

JC, That needle in Sidney reminds me of my times in Seattle at the space needle. Those where good times ,also remember going to Alki Beach and getting hit on by the babes, that was unheard of in those times, and I am not bragging just that Seattle babes are like that.

Abakua, always a pleasure to see you enjoying the fruits of your hard work...

One question, In some pictures your playing on some Matador's.. I saw an offer to take 3 brand new (quinto/conga/tumba) for £500 = $850/900

It's a good deal you think?

Abakua,

I would move to Sydney in a heartbeat if my wife was up for it.

Is that 850-900 Australian dollars for all 3 drums? Seems like a pretty good deal brother.
Have you played them? If you dig it, snatch them up quick smart!

Those drums you see me playing in the pics (Patatos and Matadors) were provided at each stage by the festival.

I would take those Matadors anyday over the Patatos.

They sounded just as good as the LP Classics, and are essentially rebadged Classics in my opinion with different hardware.
The only thing I somewhat didnt like was the rims. I would have them changed to LP traditional rims or the comfort curve II rims.

Good drums they are, I have a conguero friend who has owned some matadors (the top of the line wood ones like in the pics) for like 10 or so years, they are still in great condition. They are good drums. And I would even pick them over the Pearl series of congas, even the new folkloric congas, yuk! I tested them out not long ago, not impressed at all.

Many thanks bro,

Yeah I think it's a steal, guy said LP were doing somekind of special offer.. I hit them in the shop and first impressions were good even they were'nt tuned to my taste..

I think I will invest, I've been using the Matador bongo in the same line and have been very pleased...

Plus I just like the whole Matador vibe ...

Cheers fella..

Hey, what's up brother... Long time since I've been here... :(

I have been hella busy with some stuff; got laid off from work so I haven't had a lot of time "slack" off like I use to... :D

Nice to see you are doing well... Anyword on the older band? How are they doing since they Austy...?

Gigs are good, doing a lot of private stuff and work shops with kids... I may be doing this drum cafe thing... You ever heard of that? Pretty interesting thing and probably pays good since it involves corporations... We'll see...

Anyway, I just wanted to drop a line to say hello to congaplace crew...

Ivan
