CUBAN STYLE BONGOES MADE BY JUNIOR TIRADO 1993 IN N.Y.C

Postby FidelsEyeglasses » Sat Sep 03, 2011 4:21 am

For sale by auction:
A pair of bongoes / bongos hand made by the late legendary master drum maker Natalio "Junior" Tirado Ruiz.
I bought them from Junior Tirado at his house on Havameyer street in Brooklyn N.Y. in 1993.
The wood is Mahogany.

I had the pleasure of playing those very same bongos at Markito's apartment in Mahattan, those were very special Juniors, the mahogany wood was beautiful on that set. Back then Markito was not selling them, I did'nt buy them because I have a pair of Junior myself. Those bongos are priceless, you can not put a fair price on them, they could have gone for twice that amount.

My father actually won that set. He's been looking for a genuine Junior set for some time and is excited to have won them for a decent price.
