It's interesting that you mention the older Gon Bops hardware style of the 50's and 60's. This drum was purchased at an estate sale by the person I got it from. It was sold by an old woman who stated that her husband was Cuban and that he purchased the drum in the 60's. I don't remember where. but, the Conga is SOLID man. It sounds amazing. I dare say just as nice as my Tirado Tumba
What kind of wood would you say its made from Ritmo. Does it resemble Caoba. It's not on the light side like the Tack drum but not as heavy as a Gio.
