LP Bongo Bottom Hoop Question.

Postby Drum_Addict » Sun Aug 24, 2014 2:44 pm

Hi everybody, I recently got this bongo (bottom one) but have no idea what year it is. Also, Can somebody tell me if the cuban bottoms where made before or after the cast ones? They're both Palisades but the bottom hoops won't fit if I try to switch them.

Saludos, wait for omelenko he is the librarian and expert on age, models, type, etc, etc.. About the hoops, cuban style is better and should not fail under tension.

Both on the photo are from the early 70's (71/73). Cuban bottoms were around but were not as common as cast bottoms. I have a late 60's zebrawood with Cuban LP bottoms. The metal stickers started in the early 70's, before they used paper stickers. My zebra has paper stickers and the 2 pieces of wood for center block.
