LP263AP or REMO fiberskyn

I would like to know which is the right REMO fyberskyn for my II generation bongos with COMFORT CURVE rims (macho 7 1/4'')? I tried REMO fyberskyn on my friends LP II generation with traditional rims and it souded great - that's why I would like to know if there is any fyberskyn model that fits my bongos.

I also heard that LP makes plastic heads - I would like to know what is the difference between LP263AP and REMO fyberskyn?

thank you!

Bongi, The Fyberskin should fit your Bongó,it is 7.15" but I have mounted that skin on all the bongos I have without any problem.I use to have a comfort rim type with that skin.

Thanx for quick answer caballoballo, but I already tried REMO fiberskyn M6-0715-F1 but it does not fit! I got it on the wooden part of the bongo, but the rim is a bit too big - it doesn't hold the skin all way round. (Is it possible, that there is just problem with my bongos?)
I really need this skin so I would appreciate if somebody could give me a link, a photo or anything that would help me to find the right skin. I also tried to buy tucked fyberskyn (is this the right skin form II generation with comfort curve?), but our dealer couldn't get it - I'm waiting for it for about half a year.

What about the plastic LP263AP skin? I heard that it is also made by REMO and just sold al LP. Is this the truth?

thank you!

I don't know about the one made to Lp,I think I seen it some place, since it is made to Lp it should fit. What about to position the head the best you can and try to tune it to your like. Some people use that type of head so they don't have to retune their Bongos every time they play. The other option you have is to change those comfort rims for the traditional ones. They have the replacement part numbers at the Lp web page, may it is more expensive but it would solve the problem

Bongi,

Hows it going I just purchased Fiberskyn 3 heads (tucked) for my LP Generation 2 bongo with comfort curve and they fit great you probably just have the wrong size. On the macho I have Fiberskyn 3 (tucked) & on the hembra I have the original skin wich in my opinion sounds excellent way different bass sound then synthetic. I'll post the size of the head I purchased later I dont have it on me.

Saludos,

Bongi,

This is the Fiberskyn head i purchased it fits great.

Tucked
The Tucked FIBERSKYN®3 drumhead still has the original tone qualities an added durability with Remo’s patented tucked construction.

I also attached the remo sight so you can look up the correct size for your drums

Good Luck,

Neftali, That table is very helpful. I can resolve now the problem I have with the Moperc Bongó,the fiberskin f1 fits but it is kind of tight. Where did you purchase that M9-715-F3 head ? Is it like the Nuskin ? I ask because I have a Nuskin head in bag only for a quick replace in case the Fyberskin breaks, the nuskin sound is too dull to be use. Thanks

Caballoballo,

I got the Fyberskin 3 (Tucked) from Guitar Center it is made the same way as the other Fyberskin 3's but its tucked like a traditional skin. It doesnt seem as thick as the Fyberskin (Crimped lock) but it has the same great pop it sounds real good and gets real high.

neftali.rosado!

Thanx for all your help - I was already looking for the tucked fyberskyn, but I can't get it anywhere in Europe - ok, I looked for it in about 6 or 7 stores across the continent, but they don't have it and the ordering takes at least 3 months.
Hope to resolve my problem now...

Salve!
