I'm looking for some advice on replacing the macho head of my LP generation 2 bongo. I could replace the split one with another LP "hand picked" factory head fairly easily, but I was interested in what other people have tried before buying. Look forward to reading your responses.

Bingo,

Usually I go for a Remo Fybersking, they are easy to tune, give you lots of crisp, sound great and fit perfectly. That is just my taste, some other player may have a different opinion. Arre

Hi caballoballo.

I have ordered a Remo Nuskyn for the macho. Will let you know how I get on.

Cheers

Bingo, I made a mistake about 3 month ago, I ordered a Pearl Elite Bongó with a set of Nuskin heads to replace the factory heads. The Nuskin heads sound is DULL (they good to be use only as a Hat for the rain) I mean those heads do not project the sound. It was a waste of money because I end up buying another set of Fiberskin. If you can call back to the vendor, take my advise and order the Fyberskin instead of the Nuskin.
