Bongo microphones

I play Bongos behind a Salsa DJ @ nightclubs. I'm using a single Audix i5 mic for both the Macho and the Hembra. What do you think? Any suggestions/experiences out there? Thanks - Bennett

For bongos I like the SM57 a little better than the i5 but the i5 will work ok. If you play seated, put the mic in a desktop mic stand underneath your seat, aimed upward and forward toward the bottom of the bongos. Play with position of your seat, mic and speakers if feedback is an issue.
