Hi,

I once had a pair almost exactly like these, also in wine red, but that was in the early 1980's, and they had chrome hardware instead of the black hardware on your pics. Back then it was called the "Professional Bongo" model IB-3000 . I would say your bongos are a later generation of that same model. I don't know if they kept the name and type number.

Thomas
at that time was gon bops making other model of bongos. if so, was this lower class aspire model or the higher end model of the gon bops bongo.

thanks

Those are the Mariano Model by Gon Bops.
They mad the matching congas also with
the same black hardware ( which saves money ).
They were their lower budget line.
These come out only a year or two before
the company folded.

Isaac

thanks for the info, im familiar with the gon bops mariano line. just had never seen a mariano line bongo. have you ever played them. they still look very sturdy and they look like they would sound good. (if that makes any sense)

thanks
