Arre

Meinl FWB 400 (Cherry Red) with FiberSkyn 3's I gig and record with them. They sound great! A lot of times I'm not miked up (Coffee house gigs) and the synth heads are loud.
Old Matadors with a FiberSkyn 2 on the Macho, and I love them.
My most recent are Gen II's (acquired from a friend) These are VERY unique as the shells are made of foam. I contacted Marty and he verified that he indeed had a short run of Bongos made with foam shells, adding he hadn't seen them in over 30 years! The Hembra has a crack near the through-bolt location that I'm having repaired. I plan on putting some thin skins on and tuning them for Changui. These are for sale.
Now back to your question...
I have never played the Gon Bops But, the Meinls are very nice, having said that, I have my eye on the 5 lug Mathew Smith drums.
Scott.
