Bongo...Polish?

Postby Percussination » Sat Dec 25, 2010 3:55 pm

Hey, guys! New here on the forum, but I've been reading as a guest on occasion. I play drum set in a big band, but I've recently been getting into latin music a lot. I'm currently studying with a local percussionist (played with Stevie Wonder, Nelly Furtado, Memo Acevedo etc.) and am having a blast.
I already have a set of congas, but I wanted bongos for christmas. My parents basically gave me a price limit, and called the drum shop with their visa info, so I got to pick it out at the store. Got the Gon Bops Tumbao Pro. I was in the price range of matador/marathon/tumbao pro, and the GB's just sounded so rich and lovely.

Now, I want to take care of these boys, which includes keeping them looking pretty.

Any tips on cleaning/polishing, how often? I'll take em out and play them about 1 hour per day, but keep em in the Protection Racket for the rest of the time.

Thanks,

Geoff Bruce (GB... Gon Bops... What a crazy-random-happenstance! :D )
