The bongos Frank Oroposa is playing in the first and second videos is the signature series John "Dandy" Rodriguez model which debuted last year in 2009. Beautiful finish nice sounding. He has synthetic heads on the Hembra from Remo "Fiberskyns" and a synthetic head from LP on the Macho. Little Johnny Rivero on the second video is playing I believe is the Valje bongos from LP. It's hard to tell but the style of the shells have those familiar body characteristics you would find on the Valje model. I own both sets and they're excellent sounding drums. I have Remo Fiberskyns tucked models bongo heads on both. Currently I'm getting the Valjes fitted with Calixo Rivera's skins in the Bronx and I will be ordering a set of muleskins from Michael at L&H percussion. He'll be mounting them for me as well. I very anxious to hear them both when completed. I have my eyes on a set to be crafted by Jay Bereck from Skin On Skin Percussion. He's getting on in years but is a master craftsman with a great deal of experience. It's sort of a Christmas present to myself. The wait period is 4 months but the quality will be worth the wait.
