Sad news about Cachete...i saw him in PR this summer in El Balcon Del Zumbador (i was looking for some lessons while there, and Giovanni Hidalgo had told me to contact him there.)

He seemed like had recovered somewhat from his stroke (the word I got from my teacher here in Mass, Freddy Moreno, is that Cachete could barely just shake maracas), but he seemed much better in Puerto RIco...although it seems he's still got some physical effects of the stroke. You can see them in this picture I took with him this summer at the Balcon. His left side of the face seems "looser" than the right side...like it's drooping. My stroke afflicted grandfather had a similar look, so that's why I noticed.

Anyway, my prayers are with him...anyone have any more details about the severity of this latest stroke?

Just read in PR "El Nuevo Dia" (http://www.endi.com) "Por Dentro" section, that Cachete seems to be in need of economic help.
He is undergoing extensive therapy at a very high cost.
