History of Conga Series

Postby trumpetparp » Sun Jun 17, 2012 2:15 am

Hi guys am new to the forum, Ive just bought this little beauty on ebay it was listed as Meinl Professional series quinto and I dont recognise the badge! Does anybody know time period it was used etc and if it is the same as the modern Meinl professional series! I would love to get the conga and quinto to complete the set unless the construction and sound is to different then it will be the long search to get the same historical model. Thanks guys

It could be an anniversary model badge, but I am not 100% sure.

I own a Meinl Collection Series Tumba made from bavarian cherry wood. It is built 1997 - 1999 in a German factory for wine barrels, where also the Meinl Woodcrafts were manufactured. It seems to be the same badge.

There has been a text about the production in the German drummers´ magazin STICKS: http://www1.sticks.de/magazine/9801/meinl.htm
