Mongo Santamaria's Conga size?

Question: What size drums did Mongo play? I recently was enlightened by JC on what I been missing out on, and I been looking up Mongo vids on YouTube. I Noticed they look alittle on the small size. What did he play before Meinl? Thanks in advance.

He always played Vergara congas. Sizes 10.75, 11, and 11.5". Mongo never liked big tumbas, he didn't see the necessity for big fat congas.
