I have seen very interesting mahogany congas crafted in Germany. Anyone have played or seen Reiche-Trommelbau?

I've only seen them on their website, which I found from a link in one of the threads on this forum. The drums look really nice!

Yes, look very nice, affordably price, a lot of sizes; the African Mahogany is a good material for congas.
I am thinking to order some drum.

Oh, germans - they've put on frequency graphs instead of sound files:)

Seriously, though, the drums and their prices look good! Let us know, rebongo, if you order!

That small stand also looks like a nice idea btw. It might allow for seated playing since it's very low, but still lifts the drum off the floow. It's not collapsable, but I imagine would fit well in a conga bag.

I wonder though if the metrical measurements of the drum diameters would not be a problem if someone wanted to swith to synthetic heads (which are in inches AFAIK).

I have two Sol African styled drums, 44 inches tall and conical shaped with custom stands, made of what Akbar called 'African mahogany'. My drums are quite a bit darker redish brown in color, more like the wood I see on my djun djuns.
