Hello everyone,

I have an opportunity to get 3 brand new LP Classics for about 350$ each. ($1050 for the set). I can also get 3 padded LP Congas bags for 85.20 each. ($255.60). so the total package after tax and some shipping will be approximatly $1400. Does this sound like a good deal? I know that LP congas can be anywhere from $400-$500...Let me know your thoughts.

Peace

Sakuntu,

Sounds like a pretty good deal for brand new drums, most online and big name music stores like guitar center will charge up to $50 more per drum. As far as the bags go, check with musicians friend or music123, they will probably be cheaper there and they have free shipping. I always suggest used equipment, I got the same exact setup, drums are in almost perfect shape with LP bags for $560 used. There are definitely perks to buying new, but come on $560 compared to $1400.

If you have your heart set on some brand new drums then you should definitely jump on that deal. But just be sure that you get some kind of warranty with drums and make sure you check them up and down when they get to you, you have to watch out when buying over the internet, I've received a lot of nice drums in the mail with very poor packaging.

this deal is from a buddy of mine who works at a music store. But i'll keep in mind about the packaging and musicians friend. I was looking at some protector bags today too-they seem to be actually cheaper than LP bags. maybe i'lll check some of them out.

Make sure you check into the bag sizes, I have 2 padded LP bags with backpack straps and 1 without straps that I bought used. I just put a new skin on my tumba a couple weeks ago so I took it to my conga lesson, I usually just take my conga with me. So this was the first time I had needed to put the tumba in the bag. Well it was a really snug fit, it was almost impossible to get it to close. I stretched it a little bit and got it to close for my lesson, but it didn't seem good for the drum or the bag. When I came home from my lesson I noticed that one of the bags didn't have the backpack straps. So I gave it a try and sure enough it was the tumba bag with plenty of room. So if your buying bags make sure you get the correct sizes.
