Hello,

I have a set of 3 matador congas. I have replaced the heads of two of those drums (conga and tumba) with think cow skins from peru. The skins were sold and mounted by a local drum maker, Sol Drums of San Francisco CA. I am very happy with those skins. They have much less overtones than the original heads.

For my quinto, I am considering putting on a mule skin because I have heard so many good things about them.

Of course, you can order/buy the LP hand-picked heads, but perhaps you should investigate less processed heads from more natural sources (as I did).

best of luck

Hi fellow congueros.
I still have a few premounted Mule quinto heads left,
if you're interested.
