Yes Bongosnotbombs(Like you Name)...a new skin would have been a solution.....while tucking your own may be a relatively simple process you still have to "Really know how to do it." I'm sure if someone showed me I probablly could, but just looking at pics on a web-site. Plus you need to buy skin fleshring etc. I would love to learn how but Here in Mid-west People that tuck heads are few and far between. Bottom line I had it for 6 months bought off E-bay and resold at no loss. Enjoyed playing it and I have so many drums, I just felt someone else should enjoy. I rolled the money over onto some other gear for my studio.

Peace

Hey sure thing man, like I said it was your drum to do as you wished...

......kind of wish it was me that you sold it too, oh well :D

Changing heads really isn't that big of a deal, I change all my own bongo and conga heads and only had info from the internet to show me how to do it. Fleshrings from congas are reusable, you soak the old head off first.

I highly recommend giving it a try one of these days.

A couple of you guys mentioned the rounded rims like what's on the Gon Bops California's. I thought I'd mention that Volcano also looks like they are now offering rounded rims.

akbars sol drums had his rounded rim with tuning rod ears like valje. he passed this on to gon bop/DW in his prototype for the 'california gon bops' but DW did not run with the true spirit of his idea and made a few changes - including the shape of the drums, as well as the rim/crown.

I called Matt the other day to inquire about a requinto and a set of bongos..

it is 1/3 of the $$$ as a down payment and a 6-9 month wait. You get to choose the wood with mahogany and oak being the standard...I guess other woods are available on request.

I don't want to give his prices away as he doesnt advertise, but they are comparable to other makers prices, maybe a tad higher.
