I just talked to Conrad from spirit in the wood drums, nice fellow, very knowledgeble in regards to woods and whata best, congas are out of my price range but nice non the less. They are a single piece. Www.spiritinthewood.com check them out..

Conrad made a great bongo for me. Everything about doing business with him was super. I highly recommend him.

TIMBA still has some congas, but they are not making them anymore, i guess the company stoped forever.The congas are over priced...
But they only have about a crate container left of congas, so not that many left out there.

The owner i think is Cuban, married a lady born in Mexico, and together they ran the company Timba..
now they only sell what is left.

The warehouse where they use to make them now, makes toilet paper lol ...haaaha
They have huge rolls of toilet paper rolls,that get later cut with a laser they said.
I think the Timba owners rent the warehouse.

Hey there CP forum!

I'm wondering if this thread could be made a "sticky" thread. And, if so, if BnB would be so kind as to update his first post with the other conga makers that were posted in the thread. Adding their web pages to the first post would be fab as well.

Just a thought, otherwise the thread can sift back to page 6 or so where I found it. It would be nice to have a quick and ready reference of all the independent builders out there - I often get asked and I can never remember them all.
