Black paint on Gon Bops hardware?

Postby Kona » Tue Sep 20, 2011 5:22 am

What is the black paint on my old Gon Bops Tumba hardware?

If I paint is there a primer involved or do I just get a 'rattle can' of black gloss paint and spray away?

I have a chrome plating job to get done in the future (Gretsch rims and lugs) maybe I should just wait and do all this hardware then.
But, I kind of like the medieval look of the gray/black metal though.

i would look for a auto garage or auto paint shop to powder coat them, but they would have to be clean first for good adhesion. don't clean them until you find one that will do it for you. maybe even a gun manufacturer.
if you get a can of spray, i cannot guarantee the health of your threads for even spray and strength, it seems like a bad idea.
the physics of powder coating works well for this kind of application.

I've already cleaned everything. I went to Industrial Plastics today and they have some good paint products there. Powder coating idea is good too.
Thanks for the advice.
