Hi,
Just walked by the local music store. They had those PEARL Folkloric congas in the crimson sunburst finish.
I'm not a big Pearl fan by any means, but I have to say I was more than impessed with those. Very, very well made tubes with nice hardware (brushed steel or something like that, realy nice to look at...). The 'sunburst finish is beautiful, much nicer in real life than in the ads, plus they had top noch heads. The sound was full, round, warm and resonant, but resonant in a pleasant way. Very comfortable to play... just beautiful! No doubt they have a cool look/vibe to them. They definitely look strong, well build instruments.
I'm more of a vintage Gon Bops guy when it comes to congas, but those folcloric things impressed me!
I don't hear much of them here on the forum. Anyone playing those? What do you think about them?
