I'm on the fence between a set from JCR, or Moperc Cubanos. What do cali's quinto, conga, and tumbas run nowadays?

i have 4 jcr drums, approx. 11.5 to 13. they are very large drums that have a tremendous deep rich sound. the steel is heavy duty and the staves are made of ply. i am not certain when any more of these drums may come available; as stated you may wish to ask "Isaac Gutwilik" <funkytradition@yahoo.com>.
onile's are the same version i have, but i have seen ealier models that i do not think are as well made. as with all drums, the first models are a work in progress. best to contact isaac and see if he will have anymore in the future, or if he know's of a person who may wish to sell a set. the only caution i have for you on these drums is that 'they are very heavy and very large'.
there is nothing wrong with the sound or craftsmanship, just consider what you need them for.

Go for the Mopercs, you'd be the only one around with a set of Mopercs, and I am pretty sure the wait time is a lot shorter..

Nothing bad about the JCR's I get to play a pair every now and then in my saturday class, and they are evrything everyone has said, but the Moperc's with Michel's discount are probably cheaper and you'll probably be playing them sooner.
