Lug protectors / Screw caps / Thread protectors
The caps on the ends of your lugs - found them.

I had the most unbelievably hard time tracking these down. Local hardware stores had things that were close, but not quite right. Home Depot had some yellow ones but they were not snug enough - you really need the size to be a little smaller than the lug so it can stretch and fit tightly and not fall off. But finally ...

I give you, my conga-obsessed friends, the fruits of my labor. In basic black.

I got two sizes, one for 3/8" lugs (the size generally requiring a 9/16" wrench), and one for 5/16" (1/2" wrench). They only sell them in packets of 100, but at about US $3, who cares - stocking stuffers for the kids.

The pic below shows a 5/16" lug with cap #9753K35, and though it's a bit tight to get on, it won't be falling off. You'll have to cut them off should you ever wish to take off your lugs for a renovation or something, but at US $0.03 apiece ...

The other caps I got are for 3/8" lugs and they're PERFECT. Snug but not too hard to get on, and still possible to take off.

You and your lugs will truly feel blessed with screw protectors this fine. Oh, yes you will.
