Aloha RumBa from Arkansas,
Hey Bro', are the two lines in the fill section of you post played as one fill or do you play one line two times as one fill and then the other line two times as a fill somewhere else or do you play both lines two times as a long fill, or is it up to the individual.
I'm still new at this and am trying to play things the way they are written.

Hi! JohnnyConga, you wrote one of the tumbao types as
H T S T H T O O
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
L L R L R L R R
But why do you play the second heel with right hand? isnt it easier to use the left hand for that? L L R L L L R R
Tiene TUMBAO!

What is the difference between an open tone and the heel of hand?

Hi Snake...an open tone is what you get when you strike the drum with your hand from just below your fingers of your hand. In other words put your hand "flat-karate hand" on the head and where the rim of the conga head is under just under your knuckles, and strike the drum, with that part of the hand, with fingers closed and without tension in the hand. The "heel" is the lowest part of your hand that connects with your wrist......hope that helps...."JC" Johnny Conga..... :;):
