Prototype Gon Bops

Postby KKonga » Sat Mar 29, 2014 11:41 pm

I was reading the post on Volcano and it strayed too Gon Bops Prototypes.
All of my late model Gon Bops from 05 to 07 have the scoring on the inside.
The 3 I have from 05...I always thought they were prototypes because the shape is unlike any others.
They have a large belly and small bottom. Also the scoring has glue slathered over the scores.
I don't have any photos at the moment but will post in the future. 8)

Do they have more of a "LP Sound" due to their big bellys? Really nice looking.

No, they have that God Bops warmth.
Very nice tones. I bought them both at the same time. This is when Gon Bops was in transion right before the DW deal was final.

Great sounding drums. I have six of them; one set of 4 - Q C T ST; and one set of two - C T
