Thanks for the correction. Is that version similar to the on on Miles Smiles?

That's Adam's Apple.
Also, it is very different in my opinion from the original, which I think is obvious to anyone who listens to both versions. It is molded in the typical Miles davis form of skeletal, Bop phrasing, but the tune is not a Bop tune....miles rarely if ever played or recorded for that matter another Composer's melody straight, or correctly if you will. And this version seems to me to be what JC's version is departing liberally from here, where the opening melodic statement has a more choppy, BeBop feel than the more lyrical (singing) feeling of Shorter's post Bop original. I prefer the original.

Thank you for your constructive criticism,David. The drum part has been a problem and we are gonna do it over again with also with a different sounding snare as well and see what happens then...and to understand why I did it this way was to NOT copy the original, and in a very small way 'make it mine'...as far as my rhythmic approach ...and HOW i heard to be played...and this is a tune I have played thousands of times over the years..so I just heard it differently over time...this arrangement is also shared my my long time homey from the Bronx, sax/flute/arranger Clarion Diaz ...if you need charts or anything like that...u can find Clarion on Facebook...more to come!...TKS GUYS!...

Sorry for writing apple twice.... "Adam's Apple", I've owned the album for 30 years.
I like Wayne's original version much better. Maybe because it features the tenor so prominently. :D

Check out my favorite versions
