:( I did this solely as an interesting excercise,to try and discover as many great Timbales artists as i could ..
and I am very sorry to hear folk casting doubt on Leedy2 Honesty and quite frankly trying to stir things up...
Why question Leedy 2 s right to be included along with other great players...

I admit my knowledge of Latin Music is very limited and I certainly (as yet) know little of Leedy2s musicianship & history..but I think folk should always make sure of there facts before stating them in a public forum.(IE P.M.)

all the best my friends

:D Many Thanks Leedy2

Am very much obliged to you,it had being playing on my mind, even though it was really nothing to do with me.
I have over the years being a member of countless forums, but mostly as a watcher not a contributor?
Unfortunately I found my self leaving forums as many postings just ended up trading insults and bad mouthing each other..Of no interest to me

I Hope very much that all members, will continue to engage in constructive and yes sometimes with opposing views,in a true spirit of friendship & fraternity..when you look at the world around us today,,there is enough conflict and disharmony...

Speaking personally I really need you guys, your support, your encouragement.and above all your expertise..in all things Percussion..Because I have so much self doubt...

Very Best Wishes
Steve

:D Hello Johnny Conga,
It is good to hear from you..feel I already know you having read much on your My space e.t.c.
We seem to have a preety good list of timbaleros:-
I am entering them all in my note book for future reference..In fact I have already purchased a few CD`s and downloads
including Tito Puente & Giovannin Hidalgo-Jazz latino+Eguie Castrillo & Orq.Palladium Tradition-live`05 Must admit Jazz in nearly all its forms does not really turn me on..and especially in latin context...I have far more traditional tastes..but hey I am open to hearing anything...

 Final thoughts..regarding comments I made re- fellow members..in retrospect I should not have become involved in the personal disputes between certain individuals, and for this I apologise.I have not being a member long enough to understand members past histories on these boards,or pass any sort of judgement on anyone..I suppose in my defence I only wished to avoid unpleasant conflict, which regrettably i had come across countless times on other Forums.I really should not have made some of the comments I did regarding a certain fellow member, and I hope I Have learnt my lesson and sincerely hope I have not offended anyone.I will be keeping strictly neutral from now on.

Best Wishes
Steve

Bombon - Pupy y Los Que Son Son
Samuel Formel - Los Van Van
Andy - NG La Banda

Lachy - Enrique Alvarez y la Charanga Latina

Calixto Oviedo also deserves a good mention, as does Jimmy Branly, Danielito Lopez... so many more...

Modern Cuban style combination found predominantly in Timba/Heavier Cuban Salsa consists of full drumkit, with full Timbale set up to the left (if right handed). Can post some of my clips when I get home if you like.
