WoW fantastic tumbadoras man.
I don't think Michel uses maple any longer so those have serious collector item value (if that's the case).
Congrats bro.

A cool vid from the Montreal Jazz Fest.
The conguero is playing the Salsa Club model Mopercs.
Great sound quality - these drums are cracking!
The alto player plays a heck of a solo!

I once delivered a set of Mopercs to the Afrocuban All Stars for a gig in my city and met Juan de Marcos who said, 'these are the best congas I have ever heard anywhere'. Moperc was supplying drums for a Canadian tour they did several years ago. I own 4 mahogany drums, a requinto, quinto, conga, tumba, and one ash super-tumba and I love these drums. They are heavy but the sound is worth the weight! Michel at Moperc pays a lot of attention to detail. His skins are fantastic.

Hi Danno, that is quite a collection of Mopercs you have.
I can't wait until the end of this month to get mine.
Do you have videos and/or photos of your congas?

Congamyk,

Here is a photo of my Mopercs and my Cuban bata. I've never posted an image here and I'm not sure this is going to work for me...here goes....

Great set and pic Dano,
Looking at the battle scars you sure have been working them hard. :D

No surprise, they are such a real joy to play.

I just put a new skin on my quinto. I had been putting it off for too long. I forgot how much muscle is required to pull that thick skin up through the hoop. For a moment I thought to myself, 'what the heck have I started', but soon enough everything was looking just beautiful. Its a nice thick dark brown skin from MOPERC. Should really sing!

Here are some photos showing a set of Mopercs I owned years ago. I did very much enjoy them. I can say the drums were very nice. The builder is a very dedicated and professional person. They were nicely built and had thick high quality heads. Stainless Steel hardware. I had the last set of Mahogany that he made. Michel told me it was to costly and the quality of wood was no longer the same. They were a bit heavy but sounded great. They also turned a bit darker as the wood aged. I sold them because I enjoy trying other products. I would give a thumbs up to anyone interested in Mopercs.

Enjoy!
