I think it's really up to you if you're going to be playing those styles. You can tune the two tumbas to different pitches and have a great set of drums.
Personally, I went with the "traditional" setup of quinto, conga, and tumba. At that point, I was playing rock and folk music. However, I've recently started playing rumba and other Latin styles so much that I bought a small 9 3/4" requinto. I couldn't use this drum for everyday playing as my hands are very large, but I love the drum for quinto solos during rumbas and other Latin settings.
I've seen people use every different setup you can imagine. In fact, I've seen Gio play with at least four different setups.
