Hi Folks

Can any of you identify what is being played in the first section of this You Tube clip?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKr1F2qQ ... e=youtu.be

ie the section with the credits before the live performance.

Many thanks
Assaf

Its conga de comparsa ( conga habanera ) albeit with a slightly different melody on the congas than normal .

The intro during the credits before the group starts to play doesn't sound Cuban, and doesn't sound like live playing. It sounds like a computerized attempt to sequence a conga de comparsa using loops and sampled sounds and with a lot of other "creative" stuff thrown in off clave that doesn't fit with a conga rhythm. That intro audio has nothing to do with the video clips in the intro, which are from other videos minus their audio. The group of young guys that plays in the video sounds great, definitely real playing and definitely Cuban.

That young group are fantastic . On a second listen to the music in the intro it does sound computerised in some way .
