Making Of Conga or Bomba Drums From Wine Barrels

On the videoclip I'm playing some basic "Seises": Sicá, Yubá, Rulé and Holandé followed by some "piquetes".

Very minimal tuning on it for this demo, although can still get some nice "Primo piquetes" sounds from it.

That's a small barrell used to play the Cuá (two sticks) patterns that complement the many different "Seises" or "Sones" de Bomba.

Depending on the ensemble or region of Puerto Rico, some use a small barrell (like the photo you provided), other use bamboo pieces, and in the Bomba tradition from the South of Puerto Rico where Buleadores are bigger the Cuá is played on the side of one of the supporting drums.
